Allama Iqbal Open University admissions to start from February

Islamabad, The admissions for Allama Iqbal Open University’s (AIOU) Spring 2010 semester from Matric to PhD level across the country and in Middle East countries will start from February 6.

According to the AIOU spokesman, Ubaidullah Mumtaz, the admissions of BBA/BA/BCom, Intermediate and Al-lisaan-ul-Arabi programmes would commence from the said date.

He said the admission forms and prospectuses for all the programmes could be obtained from February 6 either from the University’s main campus in Sector H-8, Islamabad or from its 36 regional campuses/offices and 116 coordinating offices across the country.

He said the admissions of PhD (MPhil based) would be offered in four subjects of Education with specialisation, and MS/MPhil (Leading to PhD) would also be offered in the same subjects. In MS/MPhil in Urdu, Economics, Pakistani Languages & Literature with specialisation in Pushto/ Balochi/Brahvi/Sindhi, Saraiki/Punjabi, and Economics would be offered, while the admissions of MSc (Hons) would be offered in Livestock Management, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development. MS Computer Science would also be offered.

In the MSc programme, admissions would be offered in Mass Communication, Environmental Design, Mathematics, Sociology, Physics, Statistics and Chemistry, while in the BS programmes, Microbiology and Chemistry would be offered. MBA Banking & Finance, MBA IT, MBA HRM and COL MBA/MPA would also be offered in MBA.

MA in Distance, Non-Formal & Continuing Education (DNFCE), Educational Planning & Management (EPM), Teacher Education, Special Education, TEFL, Library & Information Sciences, and MEd will be offer in Master in Education with specialisation in Distance, Non-Formal & Continuing Education (DNFCE), Science Education, Teacher Education, and Special Education.

Postgraduate Diploma would be offered in Environmental Design, Educational Planning & Management, Mass Communication, TEFL, Computer Science (Online) and Youth & Development Work. In Bachelors programme, BS (CS) Foundation, BCom, Bachelor of Mass Communication, Bachelor of Library & Information Sciences, BA and BBA would be offered.
